Directional & Wayfinding Signage
Wayfinding is one of the best ways to improve visitor experience, build brand awareness, and increase productivity and profitability. McRobb can help you design and implement wayfinding solutions using directional signage and visual elements that are specifically tailored to your locations and facilities.
When we are moving around we constantly “build maps in our heads”. This is known as cognitive mapping and occurs as we combine visual impressions of our surroundings. Normally, cognitive mapping draws on graphic elements, landmarks, and the variations in space, texture and colour which naturally occur in the environment. But when this material is supplemented by an effective sign system, the map is significantly improved, and the introduction of memorable large-scale designs on walls or glazing can provide rich sources of reference in what otherwise might be a fairly barren visual environment, such as an office floor or a hospital corridor. These designs, usually printed on wall coverings, can also make an important contribution to the visual amenity, and even the visual identity, of a building.
Well-executed custom Directional Signage can add to your decor and make it easy for clients, visitors and vendors to find locations throughout your building or complex. Wayfinding signs are primarily used in office buildings, hospitals, city buildings, car parks and campuses. Directional signs used on the inside of buildings have no permitting issues to deal with whilst external directional signs may be controlled by local council guidelines and require planning consent. For long lasting outdoor directional signage, stainless steel, aluminium, and acrylic substrates produce signs that require minimal maintenance.
Whether you’re a government department, hospital, campus, corporate body or SME, our team has the experience, capabilities, and ingenuity necessary to help you develop the perfect experience from start to finish.
